Cabinets and ice chests are available to house and secure any food and non-alcoholic beverage items you bring for the day. A river-front front porch, adorned with comfortable Adirondack chairs, allows you to relax and watch the activities on the water. We have several different sizes to choose from. They do sell out on the weekends from March to September, so it is highly recommended you book early!
No alcohol is ever allowed to be brought onto Wekiva Island or the Wekiva River. We do have a bar with beer and wine for sale. Any alcohol consumed at Wekiva Island must be purchased at Wekiva Island. FL Statute 562.02

The Sanctuary is essentially your marina on the river. It is the perfect place to escape to if you are seeking a different type of relaxation than what is found along the boardwalk. We currently offer 22 covered boat slips that are available for monthly rent.
The Boat Launch
The Island’s boat ramp is available for launching your canoes, kayaks, or motor boats (up to a 25 HP maximum). Guests are encouraged to bring their own boat to launch (for a fee) and enjoy your day exploring the river and stopping to fish along the way. Please note: Dogs cannot accompany guests on vessels.
The Fire Pit
Our riverfront fire pit area is a prime location for cooler months in Florida. It is a favorite place to gather, relax and enjoy the company of others. If you stick around long enough, we might end up sitting and telling “tribal” stories as the Timucuan Indians did before us!
The Boardwalk is located along the Wekiva River and Sweetwater Canal – ranging from The Sanctuary to the Boat Launch location. Wooden Adirondack chairs are placed along the water for your comfort and enjoyment. Guests are encouraged to move and arrange these chairs to create intimate seating for your group as you relax on the river with family and friends.
